The Ministry of Health through the National Vaccines Immunization Program and Health Promotion Unit with support from USAID, WHO, UNICEF and other partners, are rolled out a National COVID -19 Demand Creation campaign. The campaign, dubbed “Kenya Tukae Chonjo” aimed at helping raise awareness of the importance of COVID-19 vaccines and create demand for them while supporting community engagement at the grassroot level.
The campaign purposed to create social pressure for all eligible people to get vaccinated by providing necessary messages through different channels including mass media, social media, community radios and word of mouth. The campaign tag line is, “Pata Chanjo Tuwe Chonjo,” which means, get vaccinated so that we become safe or okay. This is because the COVID threat is real and Kenyans need to all stay alert so that COVID-19 does not cripple the country again.
