Social Accountability
AAP means being inclusive, encouraging participation, and empowering people to state their needs, to have their voices heard and to take part in decisions that affect them. AAP promotes respect for fundamental human rights. It is underpinned by the right to life with dignity, and the right to protection and security as set forth in international law.
The’ Tuwajibike Tunawiri’ is an AAP campaign focusing on eliciting feedback from community members regarding any aid or services they are receiving or need, as well as activating robust and functional complaints and feedback mechanisms for them to report any incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse, corruption etc.
Our Community radio stations partners across the country are playing critical roles in the ‘Tuwajibike Tunawiri’ campaign by helping communities to participate in development matters and enhancing the capacities of duty bearers to respond to their claim holders through our live call-in shows, and on the ground vox pops. Community radio stations are also enhancing the capacities of vulnerable populations to report on serious violations by regularly providing them with information on confidential hotlines they can send information to free of charge by calling or sending SMS.
The Tuwajibike Tunawiri campaign is being carried out in more than 50 radio stations on the DigiRedio platform across the 47 counties in the country.
